About

Humble Down was created from a place of lived experience — not perfection, not privilege, but resilience, awareness, and the deep need for calm in a world that often feels overwhelming.

I am the founder of Humble Down, and for much of my life, calm was something I had to search for, create, and protect on my own.

I grew up feeling neglected and abandoned never knowing or seeing my parents. My mother had three children by the age of twenty, doing the best she could with very little support, working 12-hour days. My father struggled with alcoholism and was abusive and left us. From a young age, I learned how to survive – how to work for everything I had, how to keep going, and how to exist in environments that did not feel safe or nurturing.

As a child and throughout my life, I lived with autism, ADD, ADHD, and bipolar disorder. Because of this, I was often misunderstood. I was bullied — in childhood, in school, and later in corporate environments — not because I lacked intelligence or drive, but because I processed the world differently. I felt deeply. I noticed more. I struggled to regulate emotions in spaces that had no room for sensitivity or difference.

Yet through all of this, I learned something powerful:
Calm is not weakness. Calm is strength.
Humble Down was born from that realization.

Why Hum Exists

Hum is more than a plush toy.
Hum is a presence.
Hum represents a gentle, grounding vibration — a reminder that calm lives within you, even when the world feels loud. The idea of Hum comes from the quiet resonance you feel in your chest when you breathe deeply, when you feel safe, when you are held — emotionally or physically.
For children, Hum is a companion. A comfort. A reminder that they are not alone.
For adults, Hum is permission to slow down, to self-regulate, to feel without shame.
Hum is there when words are hard.
Hum is there when emotions feel big.
Hum is there when you just need something steady.
Hum will be your emotional comfort companion.
